Gerrit Vink, B.Eng., GSCPresident, Principal - Business Development
Knowing how to work closely with teams and drawing on the strengths of individuals is what Gerrit is well known for with clients and Farmer. Born and raised Victoria, Gerrit is well versed on the island’s construction nuances.
He began his career with Farmer working on site at Shoal Point for four years followed by Dockside Green and numerous other well known Victoria landmarks. As part of Farmers’ succession plan, Gerrit was promoted to Manager of Operations in 2006. In 2016, Gerrit purchased Farmer and continues working on the business as its President.
As your first point of contact, you can expect Gerrit to take responsibility for how the job gets done, to listen and respond to any project issues, and to celebrate with the team at the completion of a job well done.
PAUL GRAY, AScT, GSCVice President, Principal - Chief Operating Officer
Attention to detail, a clear understanding of project documents and extensive industry contacts are an invaluable asset when providing accurate costing for any project.
In his role as Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Paul Gray leads a team of estimators as they develop budgets or pursue hard tendered opportunities. He draws on his experience having tendered various complex projects, some more than $100M, including preconstruction services for numerous negotiated, construction management and design build contracts.
Paul works closely with the team as well as with other private developer climates, all of which will impact Victoria’s landscape over the next years.
DAVE HAYDAR, RSEVice President, Principal - Chief Construction Officer
Proper communication between project site superintendents, estimating, project management, and trades is the key to running a project efficiently.
Overseeing all phases of construction projects from initial planning to completion is a large part of what Dave Haydar does. Having started with Farmer as an apprentice in 1990, Dave knows the firm and forms an integral part of the Farmer executive. This history and experience becomes invaluable to the execution of any Farmer project.
Project needs are met in a timely and efficient manner as Dave meets with Gerrit Vink and Paul Gray on a regular basis to ensure that issues are addressed quickly and innovative solutions are employed to ensure projects remain on track.
