LEED® Sustainability
Established by the U.S. Green Building Council in 1998, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program encourages architects and developers to create buildings that incorporate recycled materials and renewable and alternate energy sources.
It is intended that a LEED® certified building can use its resources more efficiently, reduce energy consumption and realize operational cost-savings over the life cycle of the building.
LEED® accredited buildings create healthier working and living environments by improving air and water qualities and by reducing solid waste. Owners, employees and tenants benefit from improved health and comfort in a community that minimizes the negative environmental footprint when compared with a building which is simply built to code.
Farmer Construction Ltd. is LEED® knowledgeable and experienced builders proud of recognizing and implementing alternatives that endeavor to meet realistic LEED® project goals while minimizing environmental impacts and creating sustainable energy balances at work and at home.
Most recently, Farmer Construction Ltd. achieved LEED® Platinum accreditation awards for Victoria’s DOCKSIDE GREEN Phase 1 and Phase 2 as well as for our own administrative offices and commercial property at 360 Harbour Road.
